Boilers and Hydronic Heating in Toronto and the GTA

Riverflow HVAC provides hydronic heating design and installation across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, and Scarborough. If you want a calmer, more even kind of heat, hydronic is a great fit. We take a design-first approach and build a well-organized mechanical area so the system runs reliably and stays easy to service.

We work with natural gas and propane, from city homes to cottage-country properties where comfort and reliability matter.

Boiler and hydronic system design and installation

Hydronic systems perform best when the design is done properly from the start. For new boilers and system upgrades, we use heat loss calculations and room-by-room planning to size the equipment and build smart zoning. This helps prevent common frustrations like hot and cold rooms, noisy operation, and a system that never quite feels balanced.

We install and replace:

  • High-efficiency boilers for hydronic heating

  • Combi boilers that provide space heating and domestic hot water in one system

  • Hydronic upgrades such as circulators, zoning, and control improvements when modernizing a setup

We also pay attention to the behind-the-scenes details that protect performance long-term, like keeping system water clean and reducing air and debris in the loop where appropriate.

In-floor radiant heating

In-floor radiant delivers steady comfort with fewer drafts and more even temperatures. It’s a great fit for basements, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home systems.

What you can expect:

  • Warm, consistent heat that feels comfortable at lower thermostat settings

  • Thoughtful zoning so key areas heat the way you actually live

  • A plan that accounts for your floor build-up and finishes to avoid surprises

Radiators and towel warmers

Radiators and towel warmers are a premium, practical upgrade. They add comfort where you feel it most, and they pair beautifully with modern hydronic systems.

Common applications include:

  • Bathroom towel warmers for everyday comfort

  • Panel radiators for additions and older homes

  • Targeted upgrades to improve cold rooms without overhauling the entire house

Indirect hot water tanks

If you want strong hot water performance without going tankless, an indirect tank can be an excellent option. It uses boiler heat to produce domestic hot water efficiently and can be a great fit for families with higher hot water demand.

Snowmelt systems

For the right property, snowmelt can be a serious quality-of-life upgrade. We design and install hydronic snowmelt for select projects, including driveways and walkways.

Reliable snowmelt comes down to good planning – proper tubing layout, the right fluid strategy (including glycol where needed), and controls that operate safely in real winter conditions.

Maintenance and service

We provide ongoing maintenance and support for the modern boiler and hydronic systems we install, and for select systems where condition and parts availability make reliable service realistic.

If you have an older boiler and you’re not sure where it stands, we can start with an assessment and give you clear options. In some cases, repair is straightforward. In others, replacement planning is the safer and more cost-effective path.

What to expect when you book

We’ll start with a clear conversation about what you want to achieve, then confirm what your home needs before recommending equipment. You’ll get practical options, clean workmanship, and a system designed to run properly over the long term.

Boilers and hydronic heating FAQ

Do you do heat loss calculations before installing a boiler or radiant system?
Yes. We use heat loss calculations and room-by-room planning to size the system properly and build smart zoning.

Do you install combi boilers and indirect tanks?
Yes. Both can be great options depending on the home and hot water demand. We’ll explain the pros and cons in plain language and recommend what fits best.

Do you service older boilers?
We can start with an assessment and give you clear options. Ongoing service depends on the system’s condition and parts availability, and we focus long-term support on modern systems we install.

Is in-floor radiant worth it?
For many homes, yes. Radiant heat is quiet, comfortable, and even. It’s especially popular in basements, bathrooms, and additions where comfort can be tricky.

Do you install hydronic systems on propane for rural properties and cottages?
Yes. We work with both natural gas and propane and can design systems that suit rural and cottage-country setups.
